Meet the Singapore Startups in our Healthcare Explore Program

Six high-potential Healthcare startups from Singapore have already embarked on their journey to expand their operations in Germany through Scaler8.

With Germany being the biggest healthcare market in Europe and 3rd biggest worldwide, it’s clear why these startups decided to expand to the German market. In 2018, healthcare expenditure contributed to an estimated 11% of GDP. The MedTech industry also generated a total revenue of 30 billion euros in the same year. The German healthcare market presents numerous opportunities, including research and development, strategic partnerships, and more, for startups and SMEs to flourish and expand.

Meet the six healthcare startups:  Biologic Technik, Kinexcs, Meracle Health, NalaGenetics, NousQ, and TIIM Healthcare.

Biologic Technik

Founded in 2019 by Bernard Loke, Biologic Technik is a Singapore deep-tech startup managing healthcare optimization and ageing issues. The company develops personalized and enterprise healthcare solutions including health-tech devices and software for major local and overseas hospitals and MNCs.

Fun fact: In collaboration with National University Hospital Smart Patient Fall Prevention System, the Biologic Technik team won Top 20 in the iHIS Challenge 2018!

 

Kinecxs

Kinexcs

Current Locations: Singapore

Kinexcs is a Singapore-based company that provides recovery and rehabilitation solutions for people with musculoskeletal issues. Their product, a post-surgical recovery management system includes a wearable sensor device that monitors the patient’s progress and sends data to a mobile app, which provides personalized therapy and recovery goals.

Kinexcs is committed to helping people recover from musculoskeletal injuries and
surgeries as quickly and completely as possible. They believe that everyone deserves
to live a pain-free and active life, and they are dedicated to providing the best possible
care to their patients.

Fun fact: Kinexcs was one of the 6 startups to win the Healthcare InnoMatch in 2022, beating more than 250 applicants from 32 countries!

 

Meracle Health

Meracle Health

Meracle Health developed the Whizz, a simple, intuitive and convenient solution to improve the management of chronic respiratory conditions by increasing the efficiency of medication delivered into the lungs while tracking intake data to augment the management and assessment of treatment outcomes.

The Whizz is the only solution in the market that addresses technique and compliance at the same time, solving the challenges faced by 7 in 10 patients, who struggle with ineffective and inconsistent inhaled medication intake. Through trials, they have shown that the Whizz helped patients overcome these hurdles, leading to reduced symptoms and better quality of life.

Fun fact: Rachel Hong, the CTO and founder of Meracle, won the She Loves Tech 2022 competition, highlighting the incredible achievements of women in the tech industry who are breaking barriers and making a positive impact on the world.

 

NalaGenetics

NalaGenetics is a biotech company that focuses on preventive care. It aims to assist people in achieving overall health, finding optimal medications, and detecting critical illnesses early by analyzing their unique DNA.

Founded by an international team of scientists from the Genome Institute of Singapore, NalaGenetics’ proprietary, patent-protected technology is trusted by doctors, hospitals, and laboratories in Asia and Europe.

Fun fact: Nalagenetics was awarded the Leading Providers in DNA-Based Precision Healthcare Solutions 2023 – Asia, at the 8th annual International Life Science Awards 2023!

 

NousQ

NousQ

NousQ is a medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes novel MedTech products focusing on meeting huge unmet needs. NousQ’s CLiKX is the world’s first and only robotic, minimally invasive, automated handheld robotic surgical applicator for ear tube insertion.

CLiKX places the ear tube in 1 second, in the clinic with just local anesthesia (LA). With CLiKX, the entire surgical procedure can be done in an outpatient clinic under LA ear drops, and the patient’s home in an hour. CLiKX thus moves the surgery out of the OT to the clinic, increasing access, democratizing care, reducing risks, reducing costs and improving health and social mobility.”

Fun fact: NousQ was the Grand Prize winner of the MedTech Innovator APAC Challenge Grand Finals 2022 at Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed) MedTech Forum. The team also won the Enterprise Singapore Startup SG Award as well as the Cambridge Consultants Product Prize at the Forum!

 

TIIM Healthcare

TIIM Healthcare

TIIM Healthcare is revolutionizing healthcare triage by empowering clinicians with AI. The company developed aiTriage, a clinician-led and clinically validated SaMD, based on heart rate variability and artificial intelligence to accurately triage chest pain patients without the need for serial blood tests to speed up clinical decision-making. aiTriage’s goal is to improve the current chest pain diagnostic pathway without changing clinical workflows, resulting in improved utilization of hospital resources, and improved patient outcomes.

Fun fact: In 2018, TIIM Healthcare won 2nd Runner Up in the China (Shenzhen Luohu) Innovation and Entrepreneurship International Competition.
