The programme also aims to address the potential challenges faced by Singaporean companies when expanding into Germany:

  • Business operations are not yet aligned to local market needs and regulations.

PROGRAMME DETAILS

STAGE 1

This stage focuses on providing an introduction to the German market, understanding the market needs and exploring those opportunities.

STAGE 1

Objectives:

  • Understand the German market and its high-growth industries
  • Explore potential business opportunities in your industry
  • Learn why you have to internationalise and what you have to consider

Location: Singapore

Date: Monthly

Duration: Half-day

Price: Free

STAGE 2

This stage focuses on identifying key success factors needed for Singapore companies looking to the German market and includes a comprehensive evaluation and readiness report to prepare the company’s expansion. The stage includes a one week immersion trip to Germany.

STAGE 2

Objectives:

  • Build a clear customer value proposition and business model
  • Understand the competitive landscape and your product-market fit
  • Identify your industry and customer beachhead
  • Learn how to structure your management team and organisation for internationalisation
  • Detect how to gain traction and get specific insights into fundraising
  • Learn how to master regulatory and legal affairs
  • Market immersion trip to Germany (up to 2 participants)

After completing this module, you obtain a comprehensive evaluation and readiness report which strengthens your expansion strategy and prepares you for Module 3.

Location: Singapore and Germany

Dates:  Commences March 2020

Duration: 7 weeks + 1-week immersion trip to Germany

Price: S$17,000*

Pay only: S$5,000/company (or S$5,350 inclusive of GST)

*Immediate 70% subsidy on the cost of participation by ESG grants.

Price includes programme costs in Singapore and Germany for a maximum of 2 participants per company, and excludes cost of travel, accommodation and meals.

STAGE 3

This stage will delve deeper into building connections, as well as establishing and growing your business in Germany.

Companies who would like to participate in Stage 3 are required to pitch to a selection committee, who will assess the company’s:

  • Growth potential of the product and/or service in Germany
  • Commitment in establishing German operations
  • Funding and/or revenues to support the expansion strategy

Participation in Stage 1 & 2 is not a prerequisite, but highly recommended in order to adequately prepare for successful expansion to Germany.

STAGE 3

1. Objectives in Singapore:

  • Obtain individual advice from our mentors in Singapore and Germany
  • Identify SMART goals and set KPIs
  • Understand German business culture
  • Establish cross-border internal culture

Location: Singapore

Duration: 4 weeks (individual start date)

2. Objectives in Germany:

  • Preparatory market scoping and industry deep dive
  • Develop customer segmentation and identify beachhead
  • Build connections with potential customers and partners
  • Develop a go-to-market strategy
  • Establish a product-market fit
  • Learn about incorporation and legal set-up options
  • Gain insights into recruitment and local employment guidelines

Location: Germany

Duration: 12 weeks (individual start date)

Price: S$50,000 *

Pay only: S$15,000/company (or S$16,050 inclusive of GST)

*Immediate 70% subsidy on the cost of participation by ESG grants.

Price includes programme costs and office space for a maximum of 2 participants per company, and excludes cost of travel, accommodation and meals.
